Charles' Song

Charles’ song sings of a man.
A man who has integrity and style.
That has experienced pain and anguish.
Stared into the eyes of hardship and continues to prevail
His song sings the lyrics of a rose grown from concrete.

Charles’ song sings of a chameleon.
Ever growing, ever changing, never the same color twice.
Able to adapt to any situation put in front of him.
Climbing to new heights day by day
Exploring the world before him.

Charles’ song sings of a lover.
A lover who loves with all his might
One who has been addressed with heart break
A lover twice scorned, but gets back on his feet
Searching for that one who will show him true love.

Charles’ song sings of a friend.
A friend who listens to every word.
Who prays with you in your time of strife.
Ready to give advice where need be.
Never turning his back when help is needed.

Charles’ song sings of a man, a chameleon, a lover
A friend, a brother, a proud African American male, a son,
A hard worker, a student, a teacher at times, a shoulder to lean on,
A muse, a child of God, a proud member of the gay community.

Charles’ song sings of Charles...

Lady Invisibility

She smiles and waves to the people who love her
But they don't see her, Lady Invisibility
Crying the tears of a woman scorned
But nobody hears her, Lady Invisibility
Wishing she could change the way people see her
Praying and hoping one day someone anyone will see her
But they won't because she's Lady Invisibility

The sweetest girl you would ever met
But would never pay attention to
The nicest voice you ever heard
But would never heed her words
The girl who constantly pleads
That little Lady Invisibility

Some have heard her speak, some choose not to hear her
Some have learned from her words, some choose to ignore her
Some have felt her embrace, some choose to push her away
Some have loved her, some choose treat her bad
That Lady Invisibility

Where is she? What is she? Who is she?
Can you hear her? Can you feel her?

Is she the woman at the grocery store?
The woman with the change jar in her hand?
The girl with extensions in her hair?
The baby crying to be held?
The little girl who scraped her knee?
Lady Invisibility is none of these people
For Lady Invisibility is me...

Reminiscing about H.E.R (Part I..Short & Sweet)

S.H.E was the second love of my life, the one I thought I would I would be with H.E.R forever
S.H.E put me through pure hell, from beginning to end, but yet I still loved H.E.R.
S.H.E used to made sure I smiled atleast once a day, in a way S.H.E. still does.
S.H.E told me should would love me no matter who S.H.E. or I was with, I believe H.E.R
S.H.E will always hold a place in my heart.
